Playa Blanca

Playa Blanca Holidays - In the south of Lanzarote (just over 30 km from Arrecife, the island's capital), Playa Blanca is a pretty resort and, as the name suggests, it has beautiful white sand beaches. The best is probably Papagayo which has sand like a drift of icing sugar, but Dorada and Flamingo are also lovely and are idyllic for any Playa Blanca holiday enjoyment.

Many ferries ply the waves from Playa Blanca to the nearby island of  Fuerteventura and local fishermen sometimes rent their boats for fishing trips, so enjoy two islands in one holiday! Playa Blanca resort is well known to windsurfers as the area enjoys gentle breezes and many other waterports are popular here, as they are in Matagorda and Playa de los Pocillos, so holidays in Lanzarote are well suited to the active holidaymaker.

Really quite an upmarket little resort, Playa Blanca has a marvellous selection of local and international restaurants, bars, cafes and shops. The boardwalk is lined with cafes and restaurants, as are the streets running parallel. Highly recommended for an evening dedicated to sampling "tapas" in some of the resort's hostelries - no better way to become acquainted with local customs and traditions.

The port is another recreational area and a modern shopping centre has been recently constructed there. There is also an 18 hole golf course just a couple of km from the resort. All in all, Playa Blanca resort is a lovely choice for relaxation in a laid back, informal and friendly ambience with emphasis simply on enjoyment. What's not to like?

Direct flights to Arrecife from Shannon ensures the accessibility of the resort and we have a great selection of hotels in Lanzarote.
