Estepona

Estepona is one of the few coastal towns that has succeeded in maintaining its "pueblo" charm and character despite the huge increase in tourism to the Costa del Sol. All the tourist facilities are here including hotels, restaurants, leisure and cultural activities and, of course, lots of shops. Numerous street cafes and tapas bars still serve traditional Spanish delicacies and the steeply cobbled, narrow streets seem more suited to horses than cars. You'll also find unusual shops and bodegas in Estepona, where you'd least expect them - all very inviting, very friendly and very cheap.

Interestingly, Estepona was actually earmarked as a potential site for EuroDisney before Paris won the race to host Mickey Mouse! Holidays to Estepona now are full of attractions, not least being the raucous fish auction held at the busy port or the bustling street markets selling all manner of good local produce and international goods.

The town is well located on the Costa, being only 30 minutes drive from the chic and glamorous resort of Puerto Banus, a well renowned spot for watching the world go by and where the beautiful people hang out! Estepona holidays can also encompass a brilliant day out at Selwo Safari and Wildlife Park where family fun and enjoyment is only 20 minutes away by car.

For simple sun worshipping, Estepona has 2 superb Blue Flag beaches and enough sunshine to keep all sun-starved northern Europeans happy for a week or two! Estepona also has a magnificent sports marina where opulent yachts and many pleasure craft are moored and nautical activities are king. For the golf aficionados, a holiday in Estepona is heaven sent as the town is close to 5 superb golf courses along the Costa.
