Ibiza Town hotels and accommodation
An architectural gem, Ibiza Town is reminiscent of one of the peublos blancos, (white towns) more commonly found in Andalucia. Now a UNESCO World Heritage site, the town is postcard pretty and within its fortified walls, the whitewashed houses tumble untidily down the hillside. Narrow cobbled streets meander hither and tither and atmospheric local restaurants and tapas bars spill out on to the pavements.
Striped awnings hang over bougainvillea draped verandas and the tinkle of glasses and laughter fade into the balmy night air. In the port area, the bar scene is truly cosmopolitan and most definitely the preserve of the beautiful people. Wacky and wild, it is highly recommended to sip your coffee or drink and watch the parade of the planet walk by! Ibiza holidays are definitely overflowing with must do and must see experience!
Ibiza Town is always jammed to capacity, the tiny streets rock with music and chat and, without doubt, all human life passes by... An amazing place to pick up some trendy gear, Ibiza's boutiques are legendary and, although prices are not too cheap, you are guaranteed a purchase that is original, if not completely unique.
The Town itself has no beach, but nearby Figueretas has a nice sandy one or continue into neighbouring Playa d'en Bossa for a wonderful expanse of golden sands. Because the port attracts large fleets of expensive yachts, Ibiza has long been a favourite of the jet set.
The ethos of Ibiza Town for the rich and famous appears to be the idea of flaunting glamour and the pure idea of being seen seems imperative to their sense of vanity! This is surely a megalomaniac's paradise. Whatever. It is immense fun to sit and stare and see how the other half lives... Ibiza holidays are certainly different.
